WARDOGS season reset: what resets and what carries over?

Season 2 starts on 15 October 2026. Planning for it means understanding which progress belongs to a season and which rewards stay on your account. This guide separates the announced direction from details that still need explaining. As of 27 September 2026.

A season date is not a reset timetable

The official teaser gives 15 October as the Season 2 start. It does not provide a reset procedure, an exact time, a maintenance duration or a separate cash exchange deadline.

Our Season 2 news article covers developer statements about the wipe and the deliberately short first season. Those statements do not establish a fixed duration for every future season.

Cash, Gold Bars and cosmetics: the documented rule

WarDogsHub reproduces the Gold Exchange menu notice: level progression and cash reset at the end of a major update cycle, with remaining cash automatically exchanged for Gold Bars. Gold Bars and acquired Gold Market cosmetics are intended to carry across seasons. The page also links a developer statement for cosmetic persistence.

We are reporting these rules through that documented source. We did not inspect the menu in game for this research. This does not establish every implementation detail of the Season 2 transition.

For planning, the distinction matters: the described system converts remaining cash. Spending it solely out of fear that it will disappear without conversion would be premature. Keeping Gold Bars also does not promise the same spendable cash balance in the next season.

XP curves and unlock order can change

In the 9 September Season 1 changelog, BULKHEAD explicitly says each season will have a different XP curve and item order. A useful route to a vehicle today may therefore change next season.

We do not yet have a complete Season 2 list covering every role level and paid unlock. The general reset notice cannot supply that missing detail. Check new requirements and costs when the specific changes are published.

Recorded progress is not the same as retained unlocks

Our 25 September article covers the developer statement that statistics and role levels continue to be tracked for future meta and skill systems. That record is distinct from the levels and unlocks currently available to use.

Recorded activity may matter later without preserving today's equipment access unchanged. We could not establish a precise crediting formula or a firm release date for those systems.

Questions that remain open

• Which exchange rate applies to automatic cash conversion?
• What happens to a remainder worth less than one whole Gold Bar?
• How are individual paid unlocks and unused Vault contents handled?
• Exactly when does the reset happen, and how long might maintenance last?
• How will recorded progress contribute to future meta or skill systems?

How to prepare

Record your cash, Gold Bars, role levels and important unlocks before the transition. This gives you a baseline if something is unclear after the update.

Choose purchases for the enjoyment and usefulness they offer in the remaining matches. Keep cash available for further deployments instead of committing your entire budget based on an unconfirmed exchange-rate forecast. Fieldkit's gold page shows observed rates; it cannot guarantee the reset rate.

When official details arrive, the priority is to check conversion rules, new XP curves and unlock requirements. A fixed season calendar or a blanket promise that all progress survives would go beyond the evidence currently available.
