WARDOGS settings: Better FPS, visibility and controls
Tune WARDOGS graphics, FOV, upscaling, scopes, audio and keybinds with our starting profile and a practical routine for comparing performance and visibility.

Good WARDOGS settings should combine a stable picture, readable targets and dependable controls. We recommend a deliberate starting profile, then checking it on the firing range and in a live match. The values below are recommendations, not FPS gains measured or guaranteed by us.
Our graphics starting profile
Begin at your monitor's native resolution. Use these settings as a starting point, then change one option at a time. Menu names and available technologies may vary with the game version and hardware.
- Field of View: start at 90.
- Picture-in-Picture Scope: off when aiming performance takes priority.
- Mesh Detail: medium; try high if object pop-in remains distracting.
- View Distance: start high, then check performance in a match.
- Shading and Shadows: low.
- Reflections: low.
- Particle Spawn Rate: lowest setting, labelled Potato in the English menu.
- Post Processing: low.
- Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flare and Bloom: off.
- Upscaling: first test a supported method in Quality mode.
- Frame Generation: off for the initial comparison.
- Texture detail and Texture Streaming: adjust to available graphics memory.
This is not a contest to put every slider at minimum. A setting is useful when it supports both performance and image readability in the situations you actually play.
FOV: Balance awareness against target size
A wider field of view reveals more of your surroundings but makes distant targets near the centre appear smaller. Maximum FOV can therefore make long-range engagements harder to read.
Start at 90 and check whether you can notice movement at the sides while comfortably tracking distant targets. Adjust in small steps. Assess vehicle first-person and third-person views separately: aiming requires readable targets, while manoeuvring calls for awareness.
Try the Affected ADS-FOV option if you want a different transition into the sights. It does not replace testing your tracking and sensitivity with different optics.
Losing performance while aiming: Check Picture-in-Picture
Picture-in-Picture scopes render the magnified area in addition to the surrounding view. That extra rendering work can reduce performance while aiming.
If your frame rate drops mainly when using a magnified optic, disable this option first and compare the same scene. The appearance will change too. Decide whether the visual effect is worth its cost based on how the game actually feels.
Test upscaling separately from Frame Generation
Upscaling reconstructs the output image from a lower internal resolution. Begin with a method your hardware supports, such as DLSS, FSR or XeSS, in Quality mode. Compare distant targets and movement against fine detail as well as the frame rate.
Look for trails, shimmering edges or detail that disappears during camera movement. A sharp still image is not enough to judge the result. If image quality suffers, choose a higher-quality mode or compare against native rendering.
Frame Generation adds generated intermediate frames. Its higher displayed FPS does not provide the same input-response improvement as an equivalent increase in fully rendered game frames. Our PvP starting point is therefore off. If you enable it, assess mouse response and visual artefacts alongside the frame counter.
Balance shadows, effects and viewing distance
We start shadows and reflections low and reduce the particle rate. Evaluate effects in a busy scene in particular: an empty training area cannot show how the picture behaves during explosions.
Treat Mesh Detail and View Distance separately. Objects constantly appearing as you move can be distracting, so our starting profile keeps these above minimum. If you need more performance, reduce one setting and decide whether the gain justifies the visual difference.
We leave motion blur and additional lens effects off for a clear baseline. This is a visibility preference, not a promise of a particular performance improvement.
Match textures to graphics memory
World and Character textures, together with Texture Streaming, are worth checking when graphics memory is tight or loading causes stutters. A fixed rule that a certain VRAM capacity always permits maximum quality is too broad: resolution, other settings and the scene also matter.
Start at a moderate level. Observe image quality and stuttering across several situations before increasing it. If problems appear, reduce settings incrementally. Record the original value so an ineffective change is easy to undo.
Frame limits, Reflex and display settings
Choose a frame-rate target your PC can maintain consistently. A peak that fluctuates heavily is less useful to the playing experience than stable delivery. Whether to use a limit also depends on your monitor and synchronisation setup.
With a configured variable-refresh-rate display, you can try a cap just below its maximum refresh rate. The game, driver and display still need to work together; a single cap value does not guarantee tear-free output.
If NVIDIA Reflex is available, Enabled is a reasonable starting point. Compare Enabled + Boost separately on your system instead of assuming it increases FPS. Adjust brightness and sharpening on your own monitor by comparing a dark interior with a distant outdoor scene. Excessive sharpening can make edges look unstable.
Audio, map orientation and everyday keybinds
Compare 3D Spatial Audio on your own headset in similar situations. Listen for how well you can identify footsteps and direction among vehicle and explosion sounds. A personal listening preference is not a guaranteed improvement for every device.
A north-up map helps with shared directional callouts. Disable map rotation if you prefer a fixed orientation. Adjust information visibility so useful messages remain readable without unnecessarily obscuring the scene.
Test leaning while moving. One option is lean left on E and right on Q; accessible mouse buttons are another. What matters is moving and aiming comfortably without shifting your aim when pressing a button.
Give healing, smoke and other frequently used items consistent quickslots. After changing your vest, check which slots are available. Remembering a key only helps when the expected item is actually assigned there.
How to compare your changes
- Record your starting settings.
- Pick a repeatable scene on the firing range.
- Change one option.
- Compare movement, aiming and distant detail.
- Test the result in a busy match.
- Keep only changes that actually help.
Adjust mouse sensitivity through practical checks too: can you make small corrections and still turn comfortably? Someone else's DPI and sensitivity values are a starting point, not a requirement for good aim.
