WARDOGS Season 2 is live: Update 0.2.0 adds rain, T-72B3, Gepard and four new weapons
Season 2 launched on 15 October with Update 0.2.0: four weapons, the Molotov, four vehicles, three buildables, rain, team-switch limits and ping limits.
Updated:
Season 2 launched on 15 October 2026 with Update 0.2.0. Servers came back online after a maintenance window between 08:00 and 09:30 UTC. BULKHEAD published the full patch notes the day before, following a preview with a devlog and press conference on 9 October. This overview sorts the most important additions. Balance, progression and prices are covered in separate guides. As of 23 October 2026.
New weapons and the Molotov
- TCX-SPR: assault rifle.
- PP-19 Bizon: SMG.
- Evo-3 Ultra: LMG.
- M14: marksman rifle (DMR).
New optics, muzzle devices, magazines and bipods come with them. The Molotov is a thrown incendiary you can throw overarm or underarm. It deals impact damage, and the fire hurts anyone standing in it. It can burn destructible foliage, and rain weakens the flames.
New vehicles
- Wolf-110: a fast, light wheeled transport.
- Wolf-110 with a ring-mounted M2 Browning.
- T-72B3: a main battle tank, slower than the L2A6 but cheaper and slightly more fuel-efficient.
- Flakpanzer Gepard: an anti-air vehicle.
New buildables
The MG Nest is a manned M2 emplacement that requires the large hammer. The Large Shelter is a big metal cover for key assets, available from the medium hammer. The Wooden Step is simply a wooden step for the small hammer.
Rain as new weather
The new rain preset changes visibility, engagement ranges and sound. Surfaces, vehicles and characters get visibly wet, and rain sounds different depending on what it hits and where you stand, such as under cover, inside a vehicle or in the open. Destroy a roof and the rain comes through. In heavier rain, every player on a server hears the same thunder strike at the same moment from the same direction, loud enough to mask footsteps. Rain also reduces spotting range.
Team switching, teamkills and squads
Once a team leads by more than ten points, new rules counter late switching:
- After switching, you cannot switch again for 15 minutes.
- After switching or joining mid-match, your map stays obscured until you first reach the control zone.
- Until then you also cannot use the spawn vehicle.
Teamkills are now decided by the victim: Forgive or Punish. Punishments accumulate and lead to kicks and escalating bans for repeat offenders. Respawning and leaving the safe zone without voting counts as forgiving. Squad leaders can also set a visible intent from a fixed list that others see before joining.
Ping limits and server seeding
Official servers now enforce region-based ping limits. Players who stay above the limit for a sustained period are kicked and cannot rejoin the same server until the next map transition. The server browser shows the limits and can filter by them. Our troubleshooting article on ping kicks explains how this works in practice and what BULKHEAD tightened on 21 October.
Players who fill empty servers get rewards and a vendor discount once the match begins. Before the match, each spawn has targets, a football and a hidden radio.
Bakurani, factions and quality of life
All three team spawns on Bakurani were moved and rebuilt with dedicated routes to the zone. Lonestar uniforms are more desaturated. Teams at least 40 points behind second place get 20 percent off at the vendor. The extra cash and XP bonus for Lonestar alone was part of an experiment and was removed on day one; we cover that in a separate news article.
Rebuy Last Loadout now fills the vendor visibly with your last kit, which you can adjust before buying. Purchased vehicles have a private inventory for the driver and squad by default. Free team vehicles stay open to everyone.
Wager vendor arrives later
The experimental Wager vendor is not available at launch and is meant to open later in the season. It lets you stake your own cash on objectives you pick. The studio says it is not a permanent feature and may be removed if it proves too exploitable.
What else is coming
The Gold Market gains eight new camos, and the Black & Gold AK camo has been removed. Steam trading cards and Point Shop items are planned during Season 2, pending Valve's approval. Controller players get an aim assist strength slider and new bindings, among other changes.
