WARDOGS Intel Arc stuttering: driver fix and launch option

Regular hitches that persist across graphics presets match a documented Intel Arc B580 issue. Intel’s support article, reviewed on 15 September 2026, describes pauses every three to five seconds and recommends driver 32.0.101.8993 or later. Research checked: 23 September 2026.

Check the driver first

Install an appropriate current graphics driver from Intel, then test WARDOGS again. The version above is Intel’s minimum recommendation for this fix, not a claim that it is the latest available driver.

If the hitches remain

Multiple players confirm a workaround also documented by Intel:

• Close WARDOGS.
• In Steam, right-click WARDOGS, then Properties, General, Launch Options.
• Add -nogpucrashdebugging without quotation marks. Record any existing options first.
• Launch the game and repeat the same test.

This disables GPU crash debugging. Intel community reports describe substantially smoother play; it does not diagnose unrelated crashes.

Scope and undoing the change

Intel’s official recommendation concerns the B580. Its community forum also contains mixed results, including A770 reports. Do not assume every Arc card or freeze has the same cause.

After updating the driver, remove the option and compare again. If the problem persists, record your GPU, driver version and results with and without the option for support. We checked documentation and player reports, rather than measuring the fix in game ourselves.
